Have you ever been sick and tired of being sick and tired? That’s exactly where I found myself at the beginning of 2013 so I decided it was time for a major overhaul in the nutrition department. This translated into the juicer coming out of hiding and becoming a counter fixture, as who in their right mind wants to lift a 15lb. motor? This also serves as a reminder of our new routine.
In the past two weeks I have cut back on coffee and caffeine as I’ve read numerous times that this simple sacrifice could help decrease pain and inflammation in the body. Thus my daily coffee addiction and love affair is over, I will splurge occasionally. Thankfully, I have experienced very little side affects.
Our mornings begin with fresh juice. It’s a blessing that Cayley enjoys cutting up the fruit and veggies to help make our breakfast juice and then eagerly gulps them down. Advantages thus far has been increased energy and weight loss of 5+lbs for all of us.
While shopping the other day I came across the above book which attracted my attention – Stop Feeling Spent and Start Living Again. I am really excited about the six-week program that says it will repair, restore, relax, and renew. The book is divided into forty-two daily actions items of things to eliminate and do. I appreciate knowing what to do and when.
I plan to share simple and healthy recipes that my family enjoys.
1 1/2 cups peeled garlic cloves 1 1/2 cups extra virgin olive oil
2 oz. butter 1 can (2 oz.) anchovies
Place all ingredients in oven casserole, cover and place in 275 degree oven for 1.5 hours.
Serve with bread and cut up vegetables.
