Recalculating Route

I lift my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from?  My help comes from the LORD, The Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1

Dear Family & Freinds,                                                                                                                            6/4/08
A friend wrote me the following, “I have really enjoyed following the progress of the company, but often wonder about the progress of your family!”

This past weekend Jon and I celebrated 23 years of marriage!  We are so greatly blessed and have much to be thankful for – Caryn and Courtney are doing well and enjoying college, Cayley is a joy and growing so quickly, we are all in good health including our parent’s (in fact my dad who was diagnosed with cancer last Tuesday found out yesterday that the he doesn’t have cancer, the slide used for the biopsy was contaminated), we have been blessed with supportive parents and great friends which makes us very rich.  Yes! life is good however we experience our share of bumps and pot holes but we get to chose how we will live out each day whether from God’s perspective or from a ground-level perspective.  Life is unpredictable and you never know what lies ahead but it is an incredible journey  that we have been privileged to share as a family and in community with others (family & friends

How to keep up with our progress:

BiM is still moving forward and initial discussions with international carriers hopefully will bring more BiM goodness to the unwashed masses 🙂  The road has been long and is taking a toll on those involved but until God closes the door we will see things through.

“The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth” (Luke 3:5)

I shared with Jon recently that if I could describe our life the image that comes to mind is from GPS (Global Positioning System) terminology. Yes, I have BiM on the brain.  As we have traveled the road of life we sometimes make a wrong turn and the GPS navigation voice says: “Recalculating route” and then tells us how to get back on course.  Often we envision what we feel is best for our family/company and believe we are heading in the right direction only to discover that it was not God’s direction.  Thankfully we have learned many important lessons from our detours and we know that God allows all things to work together for good for those called according to His purposes.

he will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. (Psalm 127:7)

Monday evening we found ourselves headed down a road we had planned for the summer only to find out that our route was recalculated given we will have to move out of our rental by August 1st as the owners have sold the home.  We had many plans for this summer but now we find ourselves having to quickly make some decisions and find another home. Caryn returns from Africa July 3rd, both girls begin their summer classes July 7th, and we have to be out of town the weekend of July 19th so the idea is to find something sooner than later.

Please keep us in your prayers as we move ahead on a much different summer road than I had envisioned.  Pray that we would work as a team and for God to provide above and beyond anything we could imagine.  Our desire is for God to receive the glory and be used mightily by Him wherever He leads us.

Many Blessings,

Cherie & Family

  1. Cherie,
I just visited with your husband, Jon, here in the Mueller community. He visited a few of our model homes here and wanted me to connect with you as well. He mentioned that tomorrow afternoon would be a good time for the two of you to come out to look together. I have set some time aside on Bob’s calendar for you to get a full understanding of what we have to offer here at Mueller. I only work here part time, so unfortunately I won’t be here tomorrow to meet you, too. I am bummed about that because I am really impressed with all that you are doing with your mission work and homeschooling your kids. I have four kids myself (hence only working part time outside the home) and I’m always looking for ways to improve what I am doing with them. I’m going to leave a note with Bob to call me if you have time after you meet with him. I live in Mueller, too, and maybe I can stop by just to meet you as well.

    Anyway, enjoy your Thursday!

    Hey,
We have some dear friends that are moving out the first part of July, because he got a job transfer to Virgina. The house is awesome, and I think you would LOVE the floor plan! It has all the bedrooms down w/ a multipurpose game room upstairs. There are 4 beds and 3 full baths all down, but spread out in a cool way.
Let me know if you’re interested in more info.
    Cheryl
